The short answer
If your app's emails stopped at 100 today, nothing's broken. Resend's Free plan allows 100 emails a day and 3,000 a month. Received emails count too, and every To, CC and BCC address counts as a separate email. Past the limit, the API returns error 429, daily_quota_exceeded: "You have exceeded your daily email sending quota."
What to do
- Find the failed sends: on the Resend Logs page, filter for 429.
- Wait for the reset. The daily quota is a UTC calendar day and resets at midnight UTC, not 24 hours after you hit it.
- Or upgrade: the daily quota applies only to the Free plan.
Good to know
- The 429 error here is what Resend's API returns. We didn't check whether emails sent over SMTP get the same error.
