The short answer
Cloudflare's changelog of October 23, 2026 says the D1 undelete API only accepts requests for databases that were deleted within the last 7 days. Requests to undelete a database that was deleted more than 7 days ago will fail. If you delete a D1 database by mistake, send the undelete request as soon as possible, and no later than 7 days after deletion.
What to do
- Act fast: send the undelete request as soon as possible, and no later than 7 days after deletion.
- Undelete is an API request. Cloudflare's undelete D1 database API reference has the details, and your AI tool can help you send it.
- Ask your AI tool: "My Cloudflare D1 database was deleted by mistake. Show me, step by step, how to restore it with the D1 undelete API, and check we're still within 7 days."
Good to know
- Our tip: don't rely on undelete alone. Export your important data regularly, keep a copy somewhere else, and check that it restores.
