The short answer
On June 3, 2026, OpenAI notified developers that Agent Builder is being deprecated. OpenAI's shutdown date for Agent Builder is November 30, 2026. ChatKit remains available. To keep your agent, export the workflow as Agents SDK code and run it with the Agents SDK in your app, or paste it into a new workspace agent if you have a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace with access to workspace agents.
What to do
- In Agent Builder, select Code in the top navigation, then Agents SDK, then TypeScript or Python.
- Copy the complete export.
- Run it with the Agents SDK in your app, or, on a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace with access to workspace agents, paste it into a new workspace agent.
- Review control flow, triggers, tools and permissions, and test every step before the shutdown date.
Good to know
- The export is not a perfect copy. OpenAI says: "This process does not convert your workflow graph or guarantee that every behavior transfers unchanged."
