The short answer
Lovable's changelog of October 29, 2026: you can now import a project that you built with another tool, or an existing website. Export a ZIP from Replit, Manus, Bolt, Base44 or v0 and upload it, or select Upload code for anything else, including a repository downloaded as a ZIP. Lovable migrates the code and moves your database and users to Lovable's built-in backend.
What to do
- On your Lovable dashboard, click the + button in the prompt input and select Import project to Lovable.
- Choose the tool your app is in today and follow its export steps, or select Upload code. The ZIP can be up to 250 MB. Leave out .env files, node_modules and build output.
- Upload the ZIP and click Start import. Lovable reports what it found, what it changed and what it still needs from you.
- Add your database export when Lovable asks for it, after the first preview.
Good to know
- The code export does not contain your database records or your app's user accounts.
- When the app needs an API key, Lovable opens its secret form. It never asks for keys or passwords in the chat.
- Your first import is free (shared with website imports). After that, imports are treated as standard build usage and consume credits.
