The short answer

Lovable's changelog of September 23, 2026: your app's AI features can now use Anthropic's Claude models, with no Anthropic account or API key, for chatbots, document and image analysis, field extraction from uploaded PDFs, and structured output. Lovable adds them to newer apps, created from May 13, 2026, which use TanStack Start. Older React + Vite apps use the other chat models.

What to do

  1. Check which stack your project is on. An older React + Vite project can be upgraded to TanStack Start first.
  2. Ask Lovable in the project chat to add Claude to your app's AI feature, and name the model you want.

Good to know

  • The models: Claude Fable 5.1 (premium-priced), Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Haiku 4.5.
  • Your app's AI requests count as AI gateway usage, which uses credits. Credit usage depends on the model used and the amount of work performed.
  • As a temporary offering, subject to change, Free, Pro, and Business workspaces receive a 4-credit monthly AI grant for AI gateway usage in deployed apps, used before your general credits.
