The short answer
No. xAI's announcement of October 12, 2026 says nothing changes for existing SuperGrok, Cursor, or X Premium subscribers: you can keep your current plan, price, and features, or switch and get a prorated refund for your old plan. The Cursor team adds that on a current Cursor plan, your included third-party usage, like Claude, continues until you switch. On the new plans, third-party models are available in Cursor on Premium and above, billed separately at API list prices through top-ups.
What to do
- Before you decide, check how much you use Claude and other third-party models in Cursor.
- If you switch, you get a prorated refund for your old plan, but third-party models are then billed separately through top-ups.
- Look for the switch option in your account billing settings. It appears there when it's available to you.
Good to know
- xAI's announcement doesn't state a deadline to switch.
- Prices and plans were checked on October 19, 2026. They change: check the pricing page before you pay.
