The short answer
Bolt's token docs say that if you keep a paid subscription, unused tokens from your monthly allocation roll over and stay valid for two months from the start of the billing cycle in which you received them, and the oldest (rollover) tokens are used first. When you cancel your paid plan, voluntarily or because a payment fails, you lose access to all allocated tokens, including rollover tokens, when the billing cycle ends.
What to do
- Check your token balance before you cancel.
- Finish what matters most first, while you still have tokens.
- To use your rollover tokens again, resubscribe to a paid plan before they expire.
- Ask your AI tool: "Before I cancel my plan, list the unfinished parts of this project in order of importance, so I can finish the most important ones with the tokens I have left."
Good to know
- Tokens purchased as a reload do not expire. Reloads are only available on some Pro plans.
- Tokens on the free plan don't roll over. Team plans aren't covered here.
