Bolt says 'Project is too large to deploy'? The 100MB publish limit

Ship ItChecked against the official source

The short answer

Publishing fails with "Project is too large to deploy. The maximum allowed size is 100MB." Bolt's support page: projects must be under 100MB to publish, and that's the combined size of your project files. It's different from your project's context window. Bolt says the most common cause is large media files, like images or videos, stored directly in Bolt.

What to do

  1. Download your project as a backup before deleting any files.
  2. Ask Bolt to find and delete images or videos that aren't used.
  3. Still too big? Host the media with an external storage service, and prompt Bolt to use the external URLs instead of local files. Bolt doesn't automatically know where moved files are.
  4. Ask your AI tool: "Find the biggest files in this project. Delete images and videos that aren't used, and list the rest so I can move them to storage and use URLs instead."
