Vercel's new terms: your credits expire, and work-email accounts can be managed

The short answer

Vercel updated its Terms of Service for Hobby and Pro customers, effective October 19, 2026. Plan-included credits expire at the end of the subscription term, and purchased credits expire one year after purchase unless stated otherwise in the purchase terms. Credits can only be used to pay Vercel fees, have no cash value, and are nontransferable.

What to do

  1. Use plan credits before your subscription term ends, and purchased credits within a year of buying them.
  2. Signed up with a work email? For accounts that use a company email domain, the company can manage only the Projects you create inside its Team.
  3. If your company wants to manage your account using your work email, Vercel will notify you first and give you a reasonable amount of time to move your personal content to an account with a different email address.

Good to know

  • Credits are generally nonrefundable, but unused purchased credits are refunded if Vercel terminates your account without cause.
  • Eligible consumers in the UK and EU may cancel the affected subscription free of charge if a change has more than a minor negative impact, within 30 days, and may get a prorated refund.
