The short answer
Vercel's docs say Hobby accounts are limited to cron jobs that run once per day. A schedule that would run more often fails during deployment with "Hobby accounts are limited to daily cron jobs. This cron expression would run more than once per day." Timing on Hobby is loose too: a job set for 1 am can trigger anywhere between 1:00 am and 1:59 am.
What to do
- Open the cron schedule in your vercel.json and change it to one run per day.
- Set the time in UTC. Vercel cron times are always UTC, not your local time.
- Need hourly or exact timing? Vercel's answer is the Pro plan (once a minute, per-minute precision).
- Ask your AI tool: "Check the cron schedule in my vercel.json. On Vercel Hobby it can run only once a day, in UTC. Change it to one daily run at [time] my time."
Good to know
- Vercel triggers the job with an HTTP GET request to your production deployment's URL.
