The short answer
Replit's updates of October 23, 2026: you can share a whole chat or a single asset with selected teammates or your whole workspace. Chat access is read-only and includes the chat's assets and development URLs. Replit's docs warn that a development URL opens a live development server, not an isolated read-only preview. Depending on the server, it can expose code, secrets, connected-service access, or actions that change data.
What to do
- Before you share a whole chat, review what your development server exposes.
- If teammates only need the result, share the single asset instead.
- Give access to selected people rather than the whole workspace.
- Ask your AI tool: "Before I share this Replit chat, check what the development server exposes without logging in: pages, API routes, secrets in responses, admin actions and real data. List anything a teammate with the dev URL could see or change."
Good to know
- Sharing isn't a fixed snapshot: access includes later messages and assets.
- Recipients need a Replit account and access to the workspace where the chat was created.
