The short answer
Lovable's changelog of October 5, 2026: you can restore work Lovable made after a push to your synced repository replaces it. When a push to the synced branch replaces commits that Lovable made, Lovable saves a backup of its copy of the branch first, and shows a notice in the editor and in Project settings, Git: "A repository push replaced your Lovable work".
What to do
- Click Review restore in the notice to see what was saved.
- Choose Restore Lovable work to bring the saved commits back, or Keep repository version to leave the project as the push left it. Lovable doesn't offer the restore again after you keep the repository version.
- If the repository has newer commits, the restored work goes to a lovable-sync branch. Merge that branch with a merge commit, not a squash or rebase.
Good to know
- Only the project owner can restore.
- Lovable shows the notice for 24 hours after the push. After that, the owner opens Project settings, Git and clicks Check for saved Lovable work.
