The short answer
Lovable's credits page lists, for the Free plan, daily build credits of 5 per day, up to 30 per month. They refresh every day at 00:00 UTC and expire at the end of the day, so you can't save them up. Free also gets monthly grants: 20 credits for Cloud, 4 for AI features in deployed apps, and 1 for connectors, refreshed on the 1st of each calendar month at 00:00 UTC.
What to do
- Use your daily build credits the same day: they expire at the end of the day.
- Chat has its own daily chat allowance. Chat usage draws from it first, then from your daily build credits, then from your general credits.
- Unused usage-specific grants (Cloud, AI, connectors) don't roll over.
Good to know
- Lovable calls the monthly Cloud, AI and connector grants and the current chat pricing model temporary and subject to change. Its docs say the current chat pricing, including the per-message price and the daily chat allowance, applies through October 31, 2026.
- Referral credits are bonus credits. They expire 12 months after they are granted.
