The short answer
While your Google Auth Platform project is in Testing, it is limited to up to 100 test users listed in the OAuth consent screen, and their access expires seven days after they consent. Google makes an exception for apps that only use plain Sign in with Google (name, email and profile). Need more than basic sign-in? An unverified app is capped at 100 new users in total after it shows the unverified app screen, so publish the app and go through verification before you launch.
What to do
- In Google Auth Platform, open Audience and press Publish app.
- Submit the app for verification, and go through it before you launch a user-facing app.
- Keep building and testing while you wait: Google says you can.
Good to know
- Restricted scopes also require an annual security assessment.
- Google's help pages don't say how long verification takes.
