The short answer
Cursor's Bugbot docs say Bugbot uses usage-based billing, and each review is billed once, to the account that has Bugbot turned on for the repository. Three settings change how much it uses: the effort level, Incremental Review, and Automatically Learn Rules. Higher effort levels can find more bugs, but each review may take longer and take up more usage.
What to do
- Effort level: Low optimizes for cost, with quality close to Default.
- Incremental Review: keep it on. By default, Bugbot reviews only the changes since the previous Bugbot review; turning it off reviews the full diff on every push.
- Learning: each learning run counts toward Bugbot usage like a review. Turning off Automatically Learn Rules stops it.
Good to know
- Effort levels are available only on usage-based Bugbot plans.
- Bugbot skips pull requests over its review-size limit, and a skipped run records no review usage.
