The short answer
Accounts on the Workers Free plan have a daily request limit of 100,000 requests, resetting at midnight UTC. When a Worker goes over this limit, Cloudflare returns Error 1027 until the limit resets.
What to do
- Not security-critical? Set the route to fail open: requests then skip the Worker and behave as if no Worker is configured.
- Need more traffic? Move to Workers Paid: a minimum charge of $5 USD per month, with 10 million requests a month included.
Good to know
- For security-critical Workers, Cloudflare suggests fail closed, which shows the 1027 error page instead.
