The short answer
Apple's developer news of October 22, 2026 says organizations and educational institutions can purchase subscriptions to apps in volume with multiseat purchasing. Organizations that use Apple Business or Apple School Manager buy the seats they need through a single Apple In-App Purchase, then assign and manage those seats. Multiseat purchasing for subscriptions is enabled by default in App Store Connect, unless you've previously adjusted this setting.
What to do
- Open your subscription in App Store Connect and check its purchase options.
- When it's on, your subscription is available through Apple Business, Apple School Manager and the App Store.
- Keep multiseat purchasing on, or turn it off. You can change these availability options at any time.
Good to know
- Apple's October 22, 2026 post also says that starting in November 2026, you can configure and test group purchases in your Sandbox Apple Account, and that group purchases will be available on the App Store this winter.
