The short answer
On Vercel, functions run in Washington, D.C. (iad1) by default for all new projects, and Vercel notes that the physical distance between a function and its data source can affect latency. If your users and your database are in Europe, move your functions to a region near your database. On Lovable Cloud, you pick the region when you turn Cloud on; after that it's locked and can't be changed.
What to do
- Find out where your database runs.
- In Vercel, open Settings, then Functions, then Function Regions, and pick a region near your database. On the Hobby plan, that's a single region.
- Starting a new Lovable Cloud project? Decide where your users are before you turn Cloud on.
