The short answer

Supabase is deprecating the anon and service_role keys by the end of 2026. If your key is long and starts with eyJ, it's one of the old ones. The new keys start with sb_publishable_ and sb_secret_. Supabase hasn't published an exact removal date.

What to do

  1. Open Settings > API Keys in your Supabase dashboard.
  2. Ask your AI tool to swap in the new keys.
  3. Test login and saving.

Good to know

  • The publishable key can live in your app. The secret key stays on your server.
