The short answer

Lovable's changelog of October 18, 2026 says you can ask for edit access without leaving the project. Select Request to edit at the top of the project, add an optional message, then send the request. Lovable emails the project's owner, or the workspace's admins and owners, who can approve or deny the request.

What to do

  1. Open the project and select Request to edit at the top.
  2. Add an optional message, then send the request. You cannot withdraw a request after you send it.
  3. If your request is approved, you'll receive an email with a link to the project.

Good to know

  • If it's denied, no notification is sent, but you can send a new request.
  • On Enterprise workspaces with Require workspace editor role turned on, Lovable refuses the request and tells you to contact a workspace admin.
