The short answer
Lovable's changelog of October 27, 2026 says that in workspace and project settings, Knowledge is now Instructions: workspace knowledge and project knowledge are now called workspace instructions and project instructions. They work the same way, so nothing changes for your projects. Instructions are always included in context, so you define guidance once instead of repeating it in every conversation.
What to do
- Open Project settings, then Instructions. Anyone who can edit the project can change them.
- Add context for that project, such as what the application does, user personas, key tables, architecture decisions and domain terminology.
- For shared rules across every project in the workspace, use workspace instructions. Only workspace owners and admins can manage them.
Good to know
- Both project and workspace instructions support up to 10,000 characters.
- For guidance that only matters for specific tasks, Lovable suggests skills instead.
